Watch for compensation and overreaching

Test how the proposed change affects the rest of the workstation. Raising a monitor may expose insufficient desk depth. Adding storage may reduce knee clearance. A desk converter may improve standing height but make the seated keyboard position worse. The setup should be reviewed as a whole after every major change.

Where possible, trial the arrangement with temporary supports, borrowed equipment or cardboard footprints before committing. Do not use unstable improvised supports during normal work. The goal of a mock-up is to confirm dimensions and reach, not to replace safe furniture or mounts.
